Grim Dawn's skill classes are known as Masteries. Each Mastery has its own skill tree which represents the various character archetypes within the game.
On reaching level 2, a player chooses a Mastery for their character to specialize in. At level 10, a second and final mastery may be chosen to complement the first choice and create a dual-class character. There are a total of Skill Points available. The other 11 Skill Points are from Quests. Mastery skills are first unlocked by investing Skill Points in the Mastery bar.
The Mastery Bar is divided into 9 tiers. Filling the Mastery bar up to a particular tier allows points to then be spent on skills of that tier. Each Skill Point put into the Master Bar also grants the character an increase in base attributes. A maximum of 50 Skill Points can be invested in the Mastery bar for each Mastery. These are Active skills that serve as Auto-Attack Replacers, and can be bound to the left mouse button.
In addition to those available from Masteries, several are granted by items. These are Passive abilities that have a chance to proc with default weapon and auto attacks. Weapon Pool Skill bonuses are applied on top of the Auto-Attack Replacer's damage, with the exception of Cadencewhere the proc on the 3rd hit will over-ride any WPS. WPSs can also be used in conjunction with attack skills with cooldowns, such as Amarasta's Blade Burst and Bone Harvestwhere they will proc during the cooldown period.
These are Active skills which provide powerful buffs, only one of which can be activated at any one time. Skills cannot be completely unlearned without first removing all points from passive skills which affect it. Points can also be removed from the Mastery bar, but Masteries themselves cannot be changed. The Spirit Guide refund cost goes up every 20 points refunded. The initial cost is 25, then 50, Not sure after this.
Sign In. From Grim Dawn Wiki.Grim Dawn is one of the best ARPGs ever made, resulting in continued growth with the latest Forgotten Gods expansion, and a very dedicated following of hardcore gamers pushing the internal mechanics to its limits. While top tier build publication is an excellent reality for those who are experienced with Grim Dawn and have a huge repository of legendary set gear, the majority of builds shared with the community are complex end-game builds that often leave new players in the dust, confused and wondering where to start, how to progress, and most importantly: how to equip.
Click here to see a detailed announcement by the Guide Creator about the issues he encountered with the Grim Dawn Community, Forum Moderators and why he moved his guides from the Grim Dawn Forums.
To help new and returning players, I have put together a collection of ten detailed build guides that are fantastic starters, can do nearly all content, and are capable of farming their own end-game gear. This means the builds perform excellently on self-found equipment and can farm ultimate to acquire the best-in-slot legendary items.
This build delivers, and is great at boss farming! Using Righteous Fervor as our main attack paired with a number of heavy-hitting devotions covering both single target and AoE, our biggest defensive layer is killing everything quickly and efficiently. Alternative versions of this build have killed Ravager in under and cleared Crucible in under 5 minutes. Gun builds are some of the most fun in Grim Dawn, blasting targets from a distance and piercing hoards of enemies, often killing them because they can get close.
And while everything is bleeding to death, you get the beat on larger targets with your giant 2-handed weapon. The build has excellent AoE and solid single-target damage, and once your devotions are complete, it rips through all of the core content with ease.
Your pets namely Skeletons murder everything as you run through the content and pick up the juicy loot. Once the regeneration from Blood of Dreeg and the Devotions is established, you rarely have to recast your pets except during tough boss fights. As with most pet builds, ground-based AoE damage is the most dangerous and can quickly kill all of your little buddies, which is why resists are very important.
The ground-based Aether damage from AoM can be quite challenging, but once you get the pet Aether resistances up, they do very well. Many players will recast skeletons to get a balanced collection of all three while others prefer pure warriors or archers; but this can be difficult to achieve with the RNG-nature of the build.
I believe this is one of the fastest leveling builds in the game.
Your Totems and Wind Devils decimate everything around you, and the general technique is to drop them and run off while they murder the entire screen.
The good news is your Wind Devils love to chase every living thing, and your Totems will shock anything in their proximity all while your Storm Box continually zaps tagged targets. This build actually levels rather quickly because pierce does fantastic damage. As with all melee builds, the biggest problem is usually ground AoE, which we have to stay out of.
Just make sure you keep your resistances maxed stun resist is very important with this build and Pneumatic Burst up at all times for Shadow Dance, which may be one of the best survival skills in the game. This build can be a bit slow while leveling and there may be instances where you have to run away to escape AoE damage on the ground. There may also be issues with AoE damage, and it could feel like it takes forever to kill things.Depending on your preferred path build, Oathkeeper is like Holy Knight or Dark Knight character class that excels in using shield and spells.
Most skills of this mastery specialized on shield and retaliation.
Plus its also capable of summoning companions and dealing large amount of damage. Note: Recommended Devotions are not in order.
Meaning, it is up to you what constellation you should learn first. When it comes to gear components, resistance to different damage types should be the priority for your character to survive on higher difficulty. This is the most effortless play style build.
Assign 10 to 20 points on both cunning and spirit for increase in damage, offensive ability, and ability to wear good equipment. To make this build more powerful, wear equipment that has chance to cast fire type spells every time you deal damage.
As I said earlier, this build is effortless to play. You can clean up mobs quickly by just passing through them. Then if you need to deal more damage, use Eye of Reckoning. The main attribute here is physique. Note: For the 3 remaining devotion points, choose what resistance you need from Empty Throne. Shield is the most important iteam on this build.
So wear the best one that you can get. The preferred item attributes are increase in physical and internal trauma damage.
Righteous Fervor is your basic attack here. Use Judgement whenever it is available to for AOE attack and crowd control. Put majority of your attribute on physique. Get some cunning if you prefer more damage. Little points on spirit is required until you can wear the best amulets and rings. Primary stats of your equipment should be physical and internal trauma damage.
Your main damage dealer here is Eye of Reckoning with the help of Judgement and Guardians of Empyrion. Retaliation stats complements really well with Oathkeeper because the mastery has skills that gets additional damage from retaliation. If possible, assign everything on physique. But of course, you need to put some on spirit for wearing high level rings and amulets. Wear items that adds and multiplies your retaliation damage. Shield is the important equipment here.
For equipment stat, prioritize fire, lightning, burn, and electrocute damage. Execute judgement, then continuously attack with Eye of Reckoning.
Your Guardian will take care of additional damage. The latest Grim Dawn expansion came out recently, introducing the all new Oathkeeper mastery class you can pick to play with. The Eye of Reckoning Oathkeeper build is very simple to play, non reliant on special gear and therefore it works quite well for beginners.
The Eye of Reckoning Oathkeeper build is quite easy to play, as we mentioned earlier, the basic playstyle of this build is just to hold RMB and kill enemies while avoiding projectiles. It can also prove useful to spec into Guardian of Empyrion so you get some more AoE and trash mob clear.
Overall, this Oathkeeper build melts Heroes pretty quickly and you will not have any issues with clearing certain content in Grim Dawn. Leveling with the Eye of Reckoning Oathkeeper build is an absolute breeze. Cunning may also be required for some gear pieces. Overall, just place points into attributes depending on what you need to use a certain set of items. In case you are playing on Hardcore or just enjoy having permanent leech, respec out of Korvaak and take Ghoul.
All the different Devotion builds can be found on the build links at the start of this article. If you theorycrafted an even better build on grim tools, feel free to leave a comment below.

The GrimTools link is available at the bottom of the guide. While Grim Dawn features numerous DoT types, I wanted to pursue a combination that had solid leech, great damage, and was fun to play.
And with the recent update to Grasping Vines, it looks even better than before. And while everything is bleeding to death, you get the beat on larger targets with your giant 2-handed weapon. The build has excellent AoE and solid single-target damage, and once your devotions are complete, it rips through all of the core content with ease.
This build is Hardcore viable! His build also utilized Savagery to buffer damage and leech. I asked him if I could integrate his build into this updated guide and he gave approval. Extremely popular and valuable. Note this is for the WanezGD Tool, which auto-installs and manages the rainbow filter. Download the setup. Below is a list of recommended components that are commonly used throughout the leveling process: Components List.
Rule of thumb: as soon as you hit Honored with any faction which will begin to happen in Elite modeimmediately buy the Writ for 88, iron that doubles your faction gain.
This will help you get to Revered much quicker, and give you access to the necessary augments to help your resists in Ultimate. And it works with BLUE non-legendary set items! It costsiron per transmute, and uses 1 Eldrich Essence which is quite rare, so make each transmute count! Remember, if you can craft the helmet of a set, you can transmute those helmets to other pieces. This means you can craft an entire set just from the helmet recipe!
This costs 30, iron, scrap and crystals which is a lot cheaper than converting to the same set. Once you get Grasping vines and Swarm up, this build levels very quickly. There can be energy management issues in the beginning just throw Ectoplasm in your jewelrybut with Grasping Vines being your main damage during leveling, you just need to strategically place and cast it every few seconds at most because all of the mobs that run into it will get shred to pieces.
Curse tougher mobs and even RR them with Swarm, you can also add Bloody Pox on top of all that, but most trash dies long before you have the chance to stack the damage.Noviasgos y amistades exatlon mexico 2019
For bosses, you can whack on them with Savagery to cause additional weapon and bleeding damage. Mobs rarely even reach you as they die of gushing wounds running through your AoE damage. But the great thing is we can get up close and personal with Savagery, which also increases our leech and health regeneration.Soldier is a physical damage dealer that can either be played as tank or heavy hitter.
The mastery is also not limited to melee combat. Due to its skill Squad Tactics from Field Command, Soldier can be easily integrated to other masteries.
To describe what Squad Tactics does, the skill increases all damage and attack speed to you and your allies. Now lets explain what all damage does, because thats what really matters in this skill. Basically, the game has 9 damage types: physical, pierce, fire, cold, lightning, vitality, chaos, acid and aether. Then another 8 dot damage over time types: internal trauma, bleeding, burn, frostburn, electrocute, vitality decay and poison. All damage increases the power of all the above mentioned damage types.
This means that any masteries you play will benefit from it. Note: Recommended Devotions are not in order. Meaning, it is up to you what constellation you should learn first. When it comes to gear components, resistance to different damage types should be the priority for your character to survive on higher difficulty.
High damage, high survivability, melee to mid-range build. This setup relies heavily on Forcewave as its attack skill. After you assign some points on spirit for item requirement purpose, put everything on physique. You may also put some on cunning but its not recommended.Myasus software update not working
Note: Since you only have Forcewave and Blitz as offensive skill. Simplicity of playstyle is another good thing about this build. Use Blitz to close the gap between you and your opponents.[HC] Grim Dawn Speedleveling - Shield Warlord, part 2 ultimate
Then destroy them all with Forcewave. The real commando that you deserve. This build uses two-handed range weapon to kill enemies with your deadly pierce damage.Tesla competitive advantage
High amount of cunning is needed for damage and weapon requirements. Then spirit for accessories requirements. Throw Canister Bomb first, then continously fire your weapon using Cadence. If you need to control the crowd, you have a flashbang to do that. Like Canister Bomb, the skill is also good in cleaning up mobs. Almost all of your attribute points should go to physique.St205 suspension conversion
But you can assign some points on spirit when needed for gear requirements. Use equipment that provides and multiplies your retaliation regardless of what damage type. As long as its retaliation, its good.
Grim Dawn: Oathkeeper Build Guides for Beginners
Just strike normally with your offensive skills. Blademaster that relies heavily on Cadence and activated passive skills during basic attacks.Inquisitor mastery requires specialization in dual pistol, elemental damages, support buffs, and setting traps in the form of Relics. If you are new to this form of mastery and looking for guidance then you are in the right place. This article will provide information on how to build your very first Inquisitor character.
Note: The recommended devotions are not in order. Meaning it is up to you to decide which constellation you should learn first. When it comes to gear components, resistance to different damage types should be the priority for your character to survive on higher difficulty settings.
The dual pistol purifier is the most basic of all the builds listed in this article. For this build, you are going to invest a majority of skill points into default weapon attacks and passive skills. The fire flash purifier is one of my personal favorite builds in Inquisitor because of its amazing capability to speed run on levels. You will also notice that this build has a lot of constellation skills, that is why I set aside 1 point in Fire Strike in order to meet the demand. Your main priority here is equipment that boosts your fire damage.
This build focuses on laying artifacts on the ground to deal massive damage while wielding range weapons. The support tactician is a good choice for multiplayer gameplay.
Although it's a support role, this build can still deal good amount of damage in case it's used on single player mode. When it comes to damage bonuses on equipment, your main priority here will be the gears that boost cold and frostburn damage.
This build is a variant of the dual pistol build with pierce as its primary damage type instead of different elements. This build is also good for speed run due to its mobility from Pneumatic Burst and Word of Renewal. And yes, both aforementioned skills can also heal your wounds. How cool is that? The Storm Vindicator is a lightning and cold caster type build that is effective for kiting play style. Sign in or sign up and post using a HubPages Network account. Can you re-speck all? I started to play yesterday as Inquistitor, but it seems that I cannot undo all points in the Skill-tree? I am following the build for Fire Flash Purifier and it is great, as a new player I got confused until I used Grim Tools but to follow your Devotion set you would need 57 points. Yuriy - I suggest you go for speed level build first. Once you have good one-handed range weapons, distribute your skills to Dual Pistol Purifier build Stick to Inquisitor skills first.
For more information about speed leveling builds, check out my separate article regarding the mentioned topic. I was wondering how to properly distribute the skill points as I level up? Currently i'm on level 22, but i don't whats more convenient. Nice list, having a lot of fun with the Dual Pistol Purifier build, will try other builds once I finish this playthrough :. Regarding the Storm Vindicator: this build is devastating when relying on Crits through Cunning.Strand discrimination research
